San Diego hosts two festivals this weekend

The San Diego area is hosting two different festivals over the weekend that will draw in thousands of people. The best part about the events is that they are both free.

First, is the Roots Fest on Adams. The event occurs on Adams Avenue and there are craft booths, food and beer. There will be five stages with more than 30 acts performing.

Then there is the Mission Federal Artwalk which will also feature music, but the main attraction will be the opportunity to meet hundreds of artists. Last year, nearly $1 million worth of artwork was sold.

Orange County foster mother awarded custody

An Orange County foster mom has just been awarded custody of a 2-year-old child.

The custody issue was a cross-country issue that began when the biological father of the 2-year-old child wanted custody of her after she lived with her foster mother since birth.

The woman was unmarried and decided to adopt a child after trying to get pregnant multiple times. The child's birth mother than came in contact with her and she agreed to give up custody as soon as her daughter was born.

The woman claimed that the child was the result of a one-night-stand, but in reality, her father lived in Ohio. He will still have visitation rights, but the details need to be worked out.
